No Toxic Chemicals
When it comes to conventional candles, most are made from either stearin (animal or vegetable fats) or paraffin (petroleum waste), and the latter is actually really bad for both the environment and us. As paraffin burns, it creates toxic benzene and toluene chemicals, both of which are known carcinogens. Apparently, breathing them in is as bad for your health as second-hand smoke.
Many candles also contain artificial dyes and fragrances, which can release harmful chemicals. Together, all these toxic particles—not forgetting soot—that are released into the air in our homes has proven to cause awful things like lung issues, cardiac problems, cancer, autoimmune diseases, and allergies. Considering our own health as well as the health of this planet, we’re obligated to make better choices.

Conserving Nature
WE AVOID PALM OR SOY WAXES
Palm and soy waxes have been linked to deforestation in the Amazon rainforest in recent years due to the high demand for products, like candles, which contain these ingredients. For this reason, for our natural candles we have sourced a sustainable alternative in the form of rapeseed and coconut wax. Our rapeseed is sourced from Europe, whilst most of the coconut used in our waxes comes from small holder farmers in the Philippines or Indonesia (approximately one third of Filipino farmers and their families make their living from coconut production). There is no forest removal in order to plant new coconut trees and all farming contacts are closely monitored in that regard. Our supplier is pioneering a programme to train farmers on sustainable coconut agricultural practices.

Recycled Materials
Carnevale Naturals is committed to selling high quality, natural products which are kind to the environment and minimize the negative impact to the planet. Recycled Materials is a key factor in our sustainable solution.
We use recyclable cardboard with labels made from a by-product of sugar cane processing which is biodegradable and compostable. We encourage you to recycle your containers one you have finished your candle if not please feel free to send the container back to us and we will re-use it and you will have a discount for your next purchase.
